Artist's Comments

Well well well. Another piccy of :iconbrianne333:'s characters XD I like her characters a lot because she has quite a few 'strong' ladies. Certainly ladies you wouldn't want to mess with.

A colouring breakthrough for me! Yessss!

Mediums: Pencil, and pen on paper, and Photoshop 7.0
Time: Waaaay too long.

Wow, it's so great osee all this new stuff from you. I've been waiting for ages. The things you showed me when I came to visit you were so great I was waiting for this sort of thing. I really like this because the costumes are so pretty adn the faces are really stylised - it's really evident that it is your work - I love that sort of illustratey feel to things. The girl on the left has an amazing pose too. So much attitude. ;p

however, I can't help but feel that the legs of the girl with the long hair are kind of stumpy compared to the slenderness implied in her frame above the waist. I think the effect is partly to do with how she is standing and that I feel her upper thighs are may a little big and the knees a little too low. Apart from that the over all effect is great. ^_^
:iconalcander:
Thanks :)

I do agree with you about Champagne (the girl on the right). It's always annoying to me when I notice proportion errors 'after' i finish inking, or colouring (etc.) and it gets to the point where it's really hard to fix. Most of the time...I'm just too lazy to do alterations XD

But thanks for the compliments!

If you are doing it on photoshop you can alter the outline before you colour. The best way is to use Liquify to nudge things into proportion more. I do it all the time with my own drawings. I try to make sure the lines are perfect before I continue but even so I end up nudging the picture after it's done sometimes.
:iconalcander:
I do that too- but with this drawing it seemed a little complicated, 'cause there's all the hair, plus it's a two character drawing, and if i made her legs longer, then i'd have to either lower the other one or make her legs longer as well...and i was a bit tired, and basically i just barged ahead with the colouring waving it off and convincing myself that 'all will be fine'!
i'm so lazy -_-
:iconjrock-prophet:
Hehe. That's ok. Everyone does it. I just think it's the way she has of standing. I do think that he legs ought to be longer, perhaps but there is so much going on around those legs that it wouldn't be worth it to alter stuff. Also her legs are so parallel that it would look really strange if you moved them in a strange direction. Best to just leave it as it is. Personally, if I'm embarassed of the way my legs turn out I crop the picture at the waist and say it was like that all along. ^_^ I'm such a cheater!
:iconalcander:
*pats on the back* don't worry- we all do it. Makes me appreciate full body pictures much more :)
:iconjrock-prophet:
Heehee. Well, I've done two recently so I'm rather pleased with myself. Ah, those feet of Imaan's make me happy. I'm still best at faces, though. Best bit about the body is the costume design you can throw in.

Wow, more beautiful gift art? And of TWO of my characters?!? Wtf woman, are you trying to spoil me rotten? (not that I want you to stop lol)

You really did such a beautiful job again - I love that you clearly pay attention to my char designs, because you so meticulously included every detail on each of them. Which is really impressive, and beautifully done. The color turned out great on both of them, and I love that it makes them look so contrasty with Champagne's gold and cream colors and Ram's white and raspberry tones. And you included both their weapons! That is all kinds of awesome :D

Ram looks very sexy and I love that her hair is all wavy and texturey. The white scales turned out really nice too, they really "pop" off that green bg. Such beautiful eyes and lips, and she looks really fierce but pretty at the same time. And her outfit was done perfectly!

Champagne looks truly beautiful too - I love that you got her whole super sparkly bit down :D You made her hair so full and wavy and just far more beautiful than I could have achieved! And I love the curves she has and her delicate face. She looks very graceful and feminine.

Absolutely wonderful job, thank you so much for treating me to more lovely art :D I really hope you might get yourself back into PE at some point, you do some very nice work! I just love this, thanks a million!

:joy: Thanks for all the compliments!!

I draw your characters because I think they're beautiful and they inspire me- and so I'm just spreading the 'luuurve' :)

About Ram- I actually switched the blue stones and the dangly silver pieces around (I was hoping you wouldn't notice). So the blue stones are on the right here, and the sliver pieces on the left (but there's no real reason behind the swap...). Ram's my favourate out of the two- I love her white skin (and the white scales were 'so' much fun to draw!)

About Champagne- I worked really hard on the folds in her dress, and her staff. Folds were always things I didn't particularly pay attention to, so this is real progress for me (all that shading and highlighing). As for the staff, well, I'm not that big on drawing metal ('cause it so haaard!!) but I tried with this drawing (I can't really say I was particularly successful, but I think it was the first time that I really thought about how a metal would look etc.)

And about PE- I'd love to get back, I'm just not sure how XD It's been so long!
